"Let's all destroy the Kaiju." Kafka made a promise to Mina Ashiro, a childhood friend. Gradually, their circumstances compelled them to part ways, and he gave up on his long-held goal.
He ended up working for Monster Sweeper, Inc., a reputable cleaning company that specializes in Kaiju combat aftermath cleanup. In the meantime, Mina Ashiro is currently the 3rd Division Captain of the Defense Force.Right now, he's not good enough to battle Kaiju with her.
At work, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, a very driven individual. Reno's unwavering will to enlist in the Defense Force eliminates any possibility of failure. His tenacity makes Kafka want to stand beside Mina as they defend humanity against Kaiju once more.
A fantasy melted by a scorching promise, frozen in time. However, Kafka is unaware that a sudden and serious Kaiju threat is coming his way.
